What we need to specify the speaker impedance?

An adjustment to the speaker impedances enables higher output power to various speakers of different impedance.

In a conventional amplifier which is designed for 4 ohm speaker impedance, the output power will drop sharply when using 6 or 8 ohms.

If the amplifier has an adjustable impedance, it can provide a balanced power output for 6 or 8 ohms in position one, Then provide the same balanced output when using 4 ohms (4 ohms in the position two).
